Week #49 - Church News in Mozambique - July 29th, 2019

Short and brief this week!  I am staying in Beira for another transfer!!  They brought me your package! Thank you, Thank you ! I cannot tell you how much it meant to open it up.  A bunch of missionaries had already looked through it, but I don't think they took anything.  The shoes are AMAZING!!  I feel like I am in heaven when I wear them in the area.  The basketball hoop is the highlight when we come back home and I am trying to stretch out the food!  Please tell Benjamin thank you again for bringing for me!   I had tons of splits with different missionaries this week.  My companion had other responsibilities.  Our Bishop has set up for us to only mark baptisms for every 2 weeks now.  I think that will help them keep up with all the new members.  We are still teaching a ton and people are progressing well. Here is the Church News Article that they wrote.  My companion and I are in it.  The couple that wr...

Week #48 - The Stone Cut Out of the Mountain is ROLLING FORWARD!!

So this has been another week of teaching some wonderful people!!  We had three Baptisms.  One of an 18 year old we have been teaching and some family of Junior.  We Baptized him our first week here.   But this week has been incredible!  We are walking and teaching, teaching, teaching!  I am loving it!  The only hard part is the energy.  I collapsed this week while we were out working.  I don't think I ate or drank enough.  I get tired pretty fast.  At the end of this week I was so dead that I couldn't move!!  We are working at least 12 hour days and we have so much to do we don't come home for lunch.  I am trying to work on it Mom.  Dad is probably thinking "Way to go, but be smart!" and you are probably thinking "Take Care of Yourself!" We are working it out.  We have been trying to do more exercises and every morning we are trying to run so that's awesome.  No crazy stories this week.  ...

T his week was crazy and we had tons of things happen!  It was great we had 8 batismos . It was awesome all of the people are family members from people in our ward!  Way awesome!  One of the coolest things this week was we met a couple from Salt Lake City and they are missionaries from South Africa.  They don't speak Portuguese so Elder Van Orden & I helped them a bit with translating and whatever they needed.  They were really awesome.  Funny story - we found a Chameleon.  It had fallen out of a tree.  It was so fun. We chased kids around with it. They think Chameleons are poisonous. haha way funny!  I was almost in tears.  We also ate this eel for our dinner last night.  It was pretty good.  We got it on the side of the road and we will try  to get the huge eel next week along with shark.  We are teaching a girl named Milla Shes .  She is incredible.  We have her marked for baptism...

Week #46 - Member Referrals are Powerful!!

We were walking in our area and the kids came running This week has been kind of a bummer... but my foot is feeling a bit better.  We received a call from President Senna.  We aren't going to Maputo anymore, but that's ok.  Today I'm gonna buy a wrap for my foot but its been filling lots better.  This week we've been working 9-9 literally!  We don't go back to  the house.  We are working our back ends off! Haha, I'm dead everyday. I learned this week that I have to take food with my daily medicines.  On fast Sunday I knew I needed to take my medicine, but decided not to eat or drink this time.  Ouch, that medicine makes you sick!  My foods here are ramon noodles and corn flakes.  When I arrived I could not drink the milk here.  I am used to it now!  I can still eat cereal!   But the sad news this week - we had batismos all ready, everyone was at the chapel and we were all in white ready to get started a...

Week #45 - This Week was Incredible!

This week was incredible!   We had Zone Conference and I heard the last testimony from Elder Draney and Elder Inskeep.  That was sweet and we also had 7 batismos!! It's growing here, I can't believe it!!  We also had interviews with President Senna.  They were great.   He is gonna send me down to the hospital in Maputo for my foot to get an x-ray - so way pumped by that. But ya, I'm doing really good.  Literally this whole week we were walking, preaching, and testifying in the area from 10-9 every day.  We didn't come back for lunch and just ate on the road...I'm so tired... But its awesome, the work of the Lord is here in Mozambique and I can't wait for more adventures.  Spiritual Story-   We are teaching a boy, Edward, who is 16 years old about our church.  (He's also visited once)  Our first visit he said he wasn't sure about The Church, but he loves the Bible.  He asked us if we could help him answer questions ...
