Week #47 - BYU Shirt & EEL! I Love This Work!!
This week was crazy and we had tons of things happen!
It was great we had 8 batismos. It was awesome all of the people are family members from people in our ward! Way awesome! One of the coolest things this week was we met a couple from Salt Lake City and they are missionaries from South Africa. They don't speak Portuguese so Elder Van Orden & I helped them a bit with translating and whatever they needed. They were really awesome.
Funny story- we found a Chameleon. It had fallen out of a tree. It was so fun. We chased kids around with it. They think Chameleons are poisonous. haha way funny! I was almost in tears. We also ate this eel for our dinner last night. It was pretty good. We got it on the side of the road and we will try to get the huge eel next week along with shark.
We are teaching a girl named Milla Shes. She is incredible. We have her marked for baptism for this next week. She is way smart and always asks us great questions. For sure she will be a huge help with the ward and the young adults. She is 20 years old and she is even thinking about serving a mission.
We are working with 3 couples and I think we will be able to help them progress. I'm way excited to see what happens. It's really great, we have already sat with them a few times and they are ready to move on with the process.
I had to take a picture of this man that was wearing a BYU Shirt!! |
We are walking tons with our members. I think we did it every day this week. We are receiving tons of referrals from them so I hope I can stay another transfer here.
This work is miraculous! I know that when we put our trust in God he will give us a path. I am here to witness that he has done this for Elder Van Orden & I. Just this last week it was late and we didn't have any visits or appointments. We offered a pray to find people to teach. Literally 5 min later we ran into a man named Matt. He is a Zimbabwean and he's a member. He helped us find people he felt would be interested so or he gave us 3 people to teach (member referrals are the best!) We marked all 3 of them for baptism for the next month. The Lord is a God of Miracles and He works in mysterious ways. I love serving Him! We are working hard out here.
Thanks for all the prayers! Tchau! (Bye)
Com Amor,
Elder Rees
