Week #46 - Member Referrals are Powerful!!

We were walking in our area and the kids came running
This week has been kind of a bummer... but my foot is feeling a bit better.  We received a call from President Senna.  We aren't going to Maputo anymore, but that's ok.  Today I'm gonna buy a wrap for my foot but its been filling lots better.  This week we've been working 9-9 literally!  We don't go back to  the house.  We are working our back ends off! Haha, I'm dead everyday.

I learned this week that I have to take food with my daily medicines.  On fast Sunday I knew I needed to take my medicine, but decided not to eat or drink this time.  Ouch, that medicine makes you sick!  My foods here are ramon noodles and corn flakes.  When I arrived I could not drink the milk here.  I am used to it now!  I can still eat cereal!

But the sad news this week- we had batismos all ready, everyone was at the chapel and we were all in white ready to get started and our bishop called and said we can't do it... He canceled our baptism because he wasn't there and he wanted to know the people  and see if they are ready... so way bummer.  I was so sad, but this week we will have those batismos so don't worry. But Dad a thing that will make you happy is our Bishop told us to SLOW DOWN  we are working to fast and baptizing lots of people - so that was awesome! haha.  We have been traveling every day with a member of the ward.  A different member will join with us. They come out and walk and teach with us!  So we are teaching all of their parents, siblings, and families.  When you add that to the new people we meet - we have been blessed to teach a lot of people!  Member Referrals are definitely powerful!!  We have 7 return missionaries in our ward.  They are the only people who have been through the temple - They are so amazing!
Our Chapel and the Sunset!
Awesome thing this week- We celebrated the 4th of July!!  Our Zone did like a little party during lunch.  We cooked hot dogs and hamburgers and had American stuff.  Most of our Zone is Brazilians or Africans but our Zone Leader is from Texas so he loves the 4th.  The other one is from South Africa.  He is way cool and he speaks the language that Trevor speaks haha. I told him my Uncle speaks it and he said he will have to teach me some. hahah

Funny story of the week- An old lady yelled at me because she butted me in line.  I said, "excuse me"... and she just went off saying way racist things and just was really weird.  All the other Mozambicans in line were trying to defend me, so that was cool.  But it was just way weird.  We got a good laugh about it.

The People- It is really awesome, we are working with the 10 men/boys who have been baptized to get them the Priesthood this week.  We have 3 that can receive the Melchizedek Priesthood and 7 that can receive the Aaronic.  So that's way awesome. We are also working with a couple to get them married and the plan is for that to happen next month!!  Today they opened up the process and they have all the documents!! So we hope everything pulls through.. esperao tudo vai dar. (wait for everything to go)

Loving it in Africa!  It's sweet to be right by the beach.  Thanks for the prayers.  We are working way hard and trying to build he kingdom of God here in Beira, Thanks!!
