Week #62 - Alma is incredible - what a missionary!

Image
This week was a crazy week! we had tons of picking up to do at the airport and tons of preparation for conference this saturday. Monday.  p day talked with the family and that was awesome. Tuesday - woke up at 3 this morning to get people from the airport and take them around to their comps and to their areas so ya we were driving about all day, and ended the day with work in the area.  It is tough to keep up with progressing people when we are driving around so much.  President Senna is a machine with goals!   We are going to have to really work hard with our Baptismal Goals and our Family History Goals!   Wednesday - woke up and did some temple names, still have the goal for the temple.  We are getting Mozambique ready to receive a temple!  We taught an English class and had all the people fill out their family tree.  We had to really work with them to help them to write the names of their parents and ...

Week #61 - I am staying here with Elder Silva!

We received transfer calls and both Elder Silva and I are staying here! We have 16 in our zone.  President Senna is sending a ton of missionaries to the Nampula Zone.  More than you can imagine.  He is sending 38 companionships to that 1 zone!  It is because he wants to create a Stake there!  Even the AP's will be up in that Zone.  Elder Holland and some General Authorities are coming to visit in 1 month.  From what we know, we have to have 5 Stakes to get a temple, so he is sending more than half the mission up there to make it happen! There are 2 Stakes in Maputo, 1 in Beira, & 1 in our Area.  If Nampula was a Stake then we will have 5.  President Senna is a man of Faith!  I am not sure where all of them will stay?   The other big push has been to help the members find their own temple names.  We have a goal to have every companionship help the members find and submit 40 names.  We hit our goal an...

Week #60 - We had to stay in our Apartment - Looking forward to a good Snooze!!

It is weird to be sending this on Friday!  We have to stay in our apartment because of the elections.  The people can get a bit crazy and you never know how safe it will really be.  I am exhausted and I think I am going to sleep for days!  Oh, I wish.  Hopefully I can catch up a bit though. Love, Elder Rees

Week #59 - More Sleep, but loved Conference!!

Hey this week was way crazy!  We just had lots of run around, but it was a week to remember!  The week started out with a late night run to the the train station at 2 am so almost no sleep last Tuesday night.  The missionaries from Marromeu came up because of the elections so that was fun. Wednesday we were at the airport all day just getting papers and documents for weddings and other stuff and sending the missionaries off to the new areas. I'm just really tired... Thursday we worked in our area getting people ready for batismo. and Friday we had interviews all day.  We had 8 people prepared so that was awesome. I went on divisions with an American the whole day which was way fun.   Saturday was amazing!!  We had 8 people who were baptized.  It was incredible to see the excitement and joy these people were feeling.  Then Saturday night we flew into Maputo to watch general conference and to have the leaders conference.   It...
