Week #59 - More Sleep, but loved Conference!!

Hey this week was way crazy!  We just had lots of run around, but it was a week to remember!  The week started out with a late night run to the the train station at 2 am so almost no sleep last Tuesday night.  The missionaries from Marromeu came up because of the elections so that was fun.

Wednesday we were at the airport all day just getting papers and documents for weddings and other stuff and sending the missionaries off to the new areas. I'm just really tired...

Thursday we worked in our area getting people ready for batismo. and Friday we had interviews all day.  We had 8 people prepared so that was awesome. I went on divisions with an American the whole day which was way fun.

Saturday was amazing!!  We had 8 people who were baptized.  It was incredible to see the excitement and joy these people were feeling.  Then Saturday night we flew into Maputo to watch general conference and to have the leaders conference.   It was incredible.   We talked a lot about how the culture of the mission works and how our efforts and work should be focused on the purpose of a missionary.  That we are all here to build the Kingdom of God in preparation for the Second Coming of Christ.

I only saw the Sunday sessions because our flight was way late and it was a 5 hour flight!!  There was a delay in Nampula for like an hour.  Dad you've probably had the same things.... PATIENCE... haha ( still working on it ).

We finally arrived from the airport Saturday at the mission home after both conferences were finished and they tried to inform us of all the changes announced.  I totally thought Mozambique was gonna get a temple, it kinda stinks.

Wow, our leadership conference was way powerful and I learned a lot from talks about the steps you go through as a missionary.  That there was a reason and purpose that God called us to serve in this place. Also we talked lots about the family history work we have been doing with members for the temple.  We all were hoping they would announce Mozambique, but maybe next time!

Our Zone (Manga) was the only Zone to hit our goal of helping members find names for the temple.  President talked lots about that, he was way happy about it.  Sisters can now be witnesses? It'll be a cool change.

We watched conference live at President Senna's home (way late).  We were there with the other leaders of the mission hanging out and watching the updates from Saturday conference and then got into bed at like 2am and woke up the next morning at 6am so ya way tired.

Sunday conference was awesome.   The first session started at 6-8pm and the other  at 10-12pm - I loved it!  I loved the talk from Presidente Nelson about service. It really made me want to go and do more.  Me and my comp are trying to set another service project now, so ya. I loved the talk from Sister Franco about missionary work.  Her talk was so simple, but yet so powerful about how God has a plan and we should pray to receive revelation to share the gospel.

Sunday sessions finished at 12am, but we had our flight back to Beira in 3 hours after we finished conference (Monday morning) so we slept for like 1 hour and went to the airport and now I'm here in Beira doing internet:)   I am going to have to sleep as soon as possible.
