Week #34 - The Miracle of WATER!!

I'm doing great! Really it’s been a pretty good week besides not Celebrating Easter at all!!  I didn’t even know it was Easter.  When I woke up it was like a regular day.  No signs or changes with the people here either.  Hope it was good for you!  Sometimes it feels like we are on a different planet here. It is so different than America. Well, our first miracle is that the mission secretaries came up and brought us another water pump and got it fixed for us.   Over 2 weeks of no showering and no water!  haha.. it was tough.  We were sweaty all day and then we would come home and just have nothing.  Me and Elder Francom did try to take a shower in the rain.  It was pretty weird, but we just got our hair and arms washed, haha. So yes, I had a real shower and it felt so great!!  We now have water we can drink when we are home. It is easy to take that for granted too, until you don't have any. The internet was terrible...

Week #33 - We Are Preparing for the Saviors Second Coming

It’s been good up here in Nacala!  We have just been preaching the word everyday, all day! It’s been great!! This week we didn’t have any baptisms and next week we are looking to have one, so that will be fun. Nothing really crazy happened this week besides the fact that we still don’t have a water pump (we will be getting one this week, yay!). Elder Latu & I had to give talks again in church. Like a last second notice the night before.  But it was all good.  The talks went really well. I was able to talk to my family this week, which was way cool and I talked to my sister Madison!! It’s so cool to actually hear her voice and be able to speak with a Missionary on the opposite side of the world. We also had some awesome news this Sunday, We hit 67 frequency (the number of people who attended church on Sunday)! We passed our old record of 65 so that was pretty dope. We also had some great lessons with our investigators and committed 6 people to Baptis...

Week #32 - "Give Me This Mountain"

H ey, It is a roller coaster in Africa!  We are seeing such amazing miracles, I cannot even put it in to words and yet, it is a struggle every day to just meet the basics with food, transporation and WATER! Saturday we had 7 Baptisms and the other companionship had 1.  Last week we had 3 people who were baptized and the other companionship had 5 people.  In two weeks we have seen 16 people be Baptized.  From last weeks casamento (marriage) to this past Saturdays baptisms its been awesome!  It is simply amazing to see the work moving forward. Since I arrived in Mozambique I have been a part of 20 people's baptisms.  These people are so eager to learn.  So the work here is progressing really well.  We are teaching about 8 lessons a day and sometimes up to 10.  I'm so excited to see what happens here in Nacala. It's tough but I know that when we put our trust and faith in the Lord, he will lift us up and bless us.   It is sad that...

Week #31 - Eating Stingray & Seeing a Marriage... What a great week!

Hey Family, I'm safe!!  We just had conference so it took a few days to be able to write.   This past weekend, the baptisms went great and the marriage was amazing!  Everything went perfect.  The Nacala squad had  8 baptisms! Incredible... and this week we are set to have 7.  It was sad last week, Irmao Finicio (Brother Finicio) didn't pass his entrevista (interview) with the ZL's.   So we are working with him and doing some more teaching so possibly this week he can try again. He didn't remember the lei de castidade (chastity law) well.      We have been out of the area all week at Conference so we will meet with those people tomorrow. It will be ok.  Conference was really good.  We had interviews with President Senna, they went well.  He asked me if I am ready to train?  I told him I would be willing if he wants me to.  So it is a possibility.  I guess we will see what happens....
