Week #33 - We Are Preparing for the Saviors Second Coming

It’s been good up here in Nacala!  We have just been preaching the word everyday, all day!
It’s been great!!
This week we didn’t have any baptisms and next week we are looking to have one, so that will be fun. Nothing really crazy happened this week besides the fact that we still don’t have a water pump (we will be getting one this week, yay!). Elder Latu & I had to give talks again in church. Like a last second notice the night before.  But it was all good.  The talks went really well. I was able to talk to my family this week, which was way cool and I talked to my sister Madison!! It’s so cool to actually hear her voice and be able to speak with a Missionary on the opposite side of the world.
We also had some awesome news this Sunday, We hit 67 frequency (the number of people who attended church on Sunday)! We passed our old record of 65 so that was pretty dope. We also had some great lessons with our investigators and committed 6 people to Baptism this week.  The work up here in Nacala is growing at a pace I never would have expected. People here are so willing to learn about the gospel and they want to learn about God. I can’t wait until we can eventually have a branch up here.  It’ll be an exciting day.
I still haven’t been able to watch conference, but Elder Thornton downloaded some of the talks so we have been able to listen to them.  It’s been really nice just to here the voice of the Prophet!  Especially when you realize how far away you actually are from him. I loved the talk from Elder Holland about the Day of the Lord, the Sabbath, and how important that day really is.  We take it for granted living in the United States how easy its is to attend church every Sunday.  Everyone here pretty much doesn’t have a car so they walk to church and they walk to YM and YW every week.  It can take them hours and yet they are willing to do it.  It’s just incredible how it is here in Mozambique. I loved this quote by President Nelson "time is running out."  We are preparing and The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is so close.  I am so excited for it!! Can you imagine what it will be like to meet the Savior and to be near Him?   President Nelson talked a lot about repentance and I think it was so we will be prepared to receive Him.

Com Amor,
Elder Rees
