Week #31 - Eating Stingray & Seeing a Marriage... What a great week!



Hey Family,

I'm safe!!  We just had conference so it took a few days to be able to write.  This past weekend, the baptisms went great and the marriage was amazing!  Everything went perfect.  The Nacala squad had  8 baptisms! Incredible... and this week we are set to have 7.  It was sad last week, Irmao Finicio (Brother Finicio) didn't pass his entrevista (interview) with the ZL's.   So we are working with him and doing some more teaching so possibly this week he can try again. He didn't remember the lei de castidade (chastity law) well.     

We have been out of the area all week at Conference so we will meet with those people tomorrow. It will be ok.  Conference was really good.  We had interviews with President Senna, they went well.  He asked me if I am ready to train?  I told him I would be willing if he wants me to.  So it is a possibility.  I guess we will see what happens.  I have been here a little over three months, so I am preparing myself. 

Also this week I ate something really cool.. stingray! It was actually not really that bad, just really rubbery.   I am working to be able to call you again.  We don't have much credit.  A call is approx. 1000 meticals which is almost a whole weeks worth of food.  I hope I can soon.  I am ok though.

Please keep your prayers for Beira.  They are still in a huge mess.  They are having problems with diseases plus everything else.  Organizations are coming in and doing what they can to help, but there are so many people struggling and suffering.

Short and brief this week!  I am staying in Beira for another transfer!!  They brought me your package! Thank you, Thank you ! I cannot tell you how much it meant to open it up.  A bunch of missionaries had already looked through it, but I don't think they took anything.  The shoes are AMAZING!!  I feel like I am in heaven when I wear them in the area.  The basketball hoop is the highlight when we come back home and I am trying to stretch out the food!  Please tell Benjamin thank you again for bringing for me!   I had tons of splits with different missionaries this week.  My companion had other responsibilities.  Our Bishop has set up for us to only mark baptisms for every 2 weeks now.  I think that will help them keep up with all the new members.  We are still teaching a ton and people are progressing well. Week # 23 - The Voice of the Spirit

Thanks to Elder Thornton - We have Pictures of CJ and the Nacala Squad!! (It took over 12 hrs for his family to receive these pictures!)   Well, the internet stinks and is not that great!  Still very slow and still no photos. This week has been lots of lessons and tons of walking. My feet have tons of blisters on them, and now my shoes are getting holes in the sides because of how much we walk.  I have been way tired and I am always hungry, but it’s been good.  I’m picking up on understanding the language, but still very difficult for me.  Please keep me in your prayers. Thanks for all the pictures and advice I love every one of them.  I’m trying to offer lots more prayers.  It has definitely helped.  I haven’t done a prayer silent or out loud in english since the MTC, so I hope they are still sincere and God knows I’m giving my all.
