Week #77 - The Work Moves Forward No Matter What!

This is Crimaldo.  We took him to the airport to serve in Freetown. The night before he was clean shaven and the Stake President invited us to be there for his setting apart!
Again another crazy week!  I don't even know how to explain it in words.  We have done lots of divisions with the missionaries in our zone.  So really fun week and some really powerful lessons.  I had the opportunity to go and do divisions with all of our DLs in our zone and got to see how they work and Wow, was I impressed! Just  the different ways how people teach made me really see how peoples talents and the Spirit work through them.

The craziest thing of the week.. a storm! the worst I've been in in my life!  Friday we traveled to Dondu.  We went to a take away (hamburger place).  It was kinda scary.  We got soaked, fell down from the wind and some lawn chairs came flying at us.  We saw the car and it looked like the wind was going to pick it up and move it.  There was some serious lighting and thunder.    You know in the movies how when lightning strikes and the car alarms go off because of the noise... ya that happened like 5 times!!  But we were all safe it only lasted about 20 mins!!  It felt a lot longer!!

We had 7 of the people we've been teaching at church on Sunday and Domingo's and Marcello are getting baptized this week!   But all in all a pretty good week.  I talked to President and my return date is confirmed.  I leaving on June 30th!  I might be flying by myself, but at least it works for me to be home just in time to head to the Hill Cumorah Pageant - so excited for that!  I think he will email you back soon.  Way cool!!

But ya other cool news, I'm leaving for the airport and flying to Tete tonight for divisions with the APs so that'll be fun.  There are 3 duplas there. The 1st Presidency asked for the AP's to live in the Beira Mission area and President to live in the Maputo area.  Tete is the hottest place ever!!  I don't know why, but it is way hotter than it is here.  I hope to get some sleep!
Also, The Temple dedication is this week ( Saturday) so way hyped for that!  This is the temple for our area, but it is still a long way away!   This last Saturday we had our service project.  We cleaned up trash and cut the grass with a cutting tool.  We didn't have energy and so no alarm.  When we got up it was way late!  Both of us slept in and we scrambled around quick to get to the service project.  I just get tired of the energy dropping.  I thought I would get used to it, but no.  I came home the other night late and the power dropped and I had to leave to take the missionaries from my ward to the airport at 3am so I just wanted to get some sleep!  So we drove over to another missionaries home and slept there.  As soon as I laid down the power dropped!!  No kidding!  So we got on the roof for 20 min and it came back on so we could have some air conditioning to SLEEP!  This is the life of a ZL and I'll miss it when I leave.
A few strange things have happened.  Thursday I stopped at a Bishop's home - he is sewing some ties for me.  He said to come and pick them up on Monday (today).  Sunday when we went to church the missionaries in his area said he died!  He was not sick when I was there on Thursday.  We have a lot of chinese people here and they are wearing masks.  I hope we do not have the coronovirus here too!
Then last night we were supposed to pick up a church worker and take him to the airport.  We got a call before we left that they could not find him.  At 2300 we were told to go find him.  So we went to his brother's home and he was scared.  We finally came home and got a call this morning that he somehow  made it to the airport and was already in another city.

We do what we can to be safe and get sleep.  I have been feeling pretty good.  If we can't study in the morning then we get our study time in at night.  Looking forward to the Temple Dedication, it will be so special.

Com Amor,
Elder CJ Rees
