Week #65 - He Came....What an incredible experience!
Great week, I don't even know where to start!
So i'll break it down.
Monday- p-day talked with the family
Tuesday- normal day. We did some great work in the area. We are spending a lot of time in Chamba( the 2nd area we are working) We have 5 people on date to be Baptized this Saturday. It looks like it will happen.
Wednesday- Great day again! We have been out teaching in our main area. We got a call about our flight to Maputo. We leave Friday morning. We have been dropping of stuff in Dondo and driving lots today also. To top it off, we had a meeting preparing a big Christmas party for the Manga and Beira zones! We are putting together something big and fun! I am pretty pumped.
Thursday- Packed items and getting ready to go down to Maputo to see Elder Holland. We are working with a boy named Edmilson (19 years). We have really been focusing with him and it is remarkable to see the progress that he is making. Today we sat with the whole family and now we are teaching his older brother and younger sister and his parents so keep them in your prayers!
Friday- Probably the best day I have had on my mission so far!! We left Beira today at 6am and flew to Maputo. We landed and dropped our bags into the house, switched out some stuff in my other bag that is in Maputo ( I have my boots now!!!) and went and ate with some Elders in the city.
Later we arrived at the chapel and Elder Holland came! The feeling when he walked in was indescribable. I know he is an Apostle of the Lord. He started off by shaking every single missionaries hand. Then we received a personal interview with him (as he called it). He looked deep into our eyes and I could feel that he could see literally into my spirit and then he asked me my name. It was the most spiritual experience in my life, no doubt... So I was interviewed by an Apostle...
He gave the most powerful training I've ever heard in my life. The meeting started with President Senna giving a testimony filled with the spirit, afterward Elder Holland spoke. (I will share more with you later about what he said)
Saturday- We did contacts in Maputo, and hung out with the Elders serving there.
Sunday- In the morning we left early with the car and pickup a missionary couple from Utah and drove them to the meeting. Afterward the missionaries helped people get seated and ready to see Elder Holland. He gave another amazing talk and what he was focused on was the Book of Mormon. We need to share more about this book and we need to study it more. At night we ate with President and Sister Senna in there house.
I'll try and call you guys and talk to you about the meeting more in depth it was so powerful, and I GOT MY PACKAGE!! Thanks family, its amazing!! Please tell the Granges thank you too!!
love you all!
and don't forget ~always be so grateful for the greatest gift God has given us - The Book of Mormon ~ Elder Holland
Much Love,
Elder Rees
