Week # 29 - Please Pray for the People hit by the Cyclone!

So awesome to talk to you and Dad and Kaden this morning! I can't believe the Aggies are headed to March Madness!! Ever since I left, USU have gotten good at everything!!
Well about the week, lots of walking and teaching lessons all day.  Last week our Mission President gave us the challenge to have 3 baptisms a week!  Wow!!  We knew we would have to work even harder.   We put in more hours and more teaching, but we didn't have a baptism this week, our one that was scheduled pulled out last second. Hopefully next week she will want to be:)

Great news, we have plans for a marriage this week! The first marriage in Nacala with the Missionaries! The couple is way awesome and really just want to get married and to become members of The Church.  They already have a great testimony of the church. Hopefully this next week we can get them baptized too.  The law of chastity is one of the biggest challenges for the people here.  When we teach them it is a good thing.  The other Elders had a baptism which was dope.  We went down to the beach with them.

When we walk down the street sometimes there are homeless people.  They don't wear clothes, most of them. It is a bit creepy.  Then they sometimes try and come up and hug us.  This morning we were walking and a homeless man came and hugged Elder Thornton and he knows to just keep walking.  Elder Thornton acted like it was no big deal and to not look. The police had to pull the man off of him.  I have had it happen to me, but I did not act quite as calm.  It was upsetting.

It was scary, but last Friday their was a massive cyclone that hit Beira.  I was in that zone when I arrived in Mozambique.  Luckily the cyclone didn't hit us in Nacala. From what I've heard it was pretty bad. The missionaries in Beira are hopefully ok!!  I haven't really heard any news.  Please pray for the people, they need lots of help.

I am always tired still just doing tons of walking,  but I feel like I'm doing a little better.

Something else sweet.. we have some investigators that speak Swahili!  They have been teaching me and Elder Francom some phrases. During their lesson we started it in Portuguese and they didn't really understand so we spoke in English and it went really well. So that was like the cool story of the week.  Transfers are coming up on the 23rd.  Hopefully we all stay, but nao sei (I do not know).

Thanks for the prayers.
Com Amor  Elder Rees
