Week # 22 - A Powerful Interview!

Elder Grange sent out this picture of the Davis Missionaries!!  CJ Rees, Hayden Grange, Johnny Thornton
Hey,  Nacala is crazy and I’ve been loving it!
Congrats with Kaden going to the temple and with his basketball game!
I told him shooting the 3 is the best!

We finally have internet, its nice.  It doesn’t work well enough to send you pictures though. Well I don’t know what to say.  This past month has been insane.
It has been really hot here, like all the time.  We got tons of rain this week - that was really nice, but other than that we are just teaching lots of lessons, so that’s fun.

Portuguese is hard, but coming along slowly. I’m starting to understand a lot and I feel like I can read
a lot better than last month.. but ya I’ve been getting tired really fast, but I’m trying to overcome that.

Our first week in Nacala we had 14 people at church ... last week the four of us (Elders; Francom, Thornton, Latu, and I) brought 65 people to church.  It was incredible!!
Elder Thornton & Elder Latu are loving it!.  They are way funny too. They had a sweet baptism in the ocean and wow, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.  It was so pretty.

We ate with Pres. Senna at the beach and it was amazing and so good.  I’ve been trying to eat healthier.  We just eat a lot of pao here so its kind of hard.

Probably the highlight of my week or maybe my mission so far was having Elder Koch from the Quorum of the 70 come speak to us.  It was incredible. It was really powerful listening to him. He is also from Brazil and so the meeting was all in Portuguese so it was kind hard to understand but its coming.   At the end of our meeting he asked 2 elders to be interviewed and he picked me, so i had an interview one-on-one with one of the 70!  He interviewed me in English, so that was really nice.  It was spiritual.  He told me in the interview that I’m very receptive to the spirit.  I’ve really thought about that a lot this week and looked into it.

I’ve been doing tons of study in the Book of Mormon lately and reading about all the wars.  Wow, I love the Book of Mormon. I have also been reading about Joseph Smith and I have come to appreciate him a lot more realizing all he did for this church.

Thanks for everything and I love the
pictures you send of the family.   I  love seeing Kaden, he already looks so different and now he can bless on Sundays!!

Com Amor Elder Rees
