Week #16 - We are Opening a New Area!!


So crazy story, I’m getting ET!!!! (Emergency Transferred)

Elder Francom and I are going to the middle of the jungle.  No missionary has ever walked here before.  We leave this Wednesday, so we will not be calling home for Christmas on the 19th any more.  We fly to Nampula and then get in a Chapa (van) for like 3 hours and go to our new area right off the coast of Mozambique.  But no one knows yet,  President is announcing it on Wednesday!! This place only has 25 members and Missionaries have never been here before.   The AP’s said there is a ton of work there.  I AM OPENING UP A NEW AREA!!



I will be calling home on Christmas Day when we are in our new area.   Can you pray for me to understand the language and be able to speak it?  Once I can understand them and talk with them so they understand me, this mission will be so fun.  
My health isn't great, but we are going to a new area and I’ve heard that the food there is more fresh so I hope that will be better.  

I have just been walking a lot and teaching many lessons every day.  Understanding the people is still dang hard for me.  I’ve been trying to do more talking in the lessons which has been good and I can now teach all by myself.   I can also buy things so that makes me pretty happy.
I have been doing lots of studies in the D&C and I love it.
I love learning about Joseph Smith and about our past history in the church.  

We heard about the Church’s news on changes with the youth!!  That is crazy that Kaden will be blessing the sacrament and able to baptize people in January.  I can’t even believe it!!

We got another baptism this week.  It was Iynda.  We have 5 more people set for baptism on the 29.  If they are baptized we will have the highest baptisms for this transfer from the mission.  So that's pretty sweet.  These people are humble and are longing for the gospel.

I don't have any pictures cause I got robbed haha.  It  was kinda a bummer.   A kid just took the stuff out of our bags.  They took 4000 metical ($64) from Elder Francom and 20 metical ($3.25) and my camera from me.  We are going down to Maputo next week so I will buy another one.

I don't have much time left, but its been a pretty good week. We have had baptism numbero 4. We are so grateful!! It's been good we hit our goal! These people are so amazing. They are so eager to learn and willing to do whatever they are asked to do. The language is still tough as always so keep praying for me. Short and brief this week!  I am staying in Beira for another transfer!!  They brought me your package! Thank you, Thank you ! I cannot tell you how much it meant to open it up.  A bunch of missionaries had already looked through it, but I don't think they took anything.  The shoes are AMAZING!!  I feel like I am in heaven when I wear them in the area.  The basketball hoop is the highlight when we come back home and I am trying to stretch out the food!  Please tell Benjamin thank you again for bringing for me!   I had tons of splits with different missionaries this week.  My companion had other responsibilities.  Our Bishop has set up for us to only mark baptisms for every 2 weeks now.  I think that will help them keep up with all the new members.  We are still teaching a ton and people are progressing well. Week # 23 - The Voice of the Spirit

Thanks to Elder Thornton - We have Pictures of CJ and the Nacala Squad!! (It took over 12 hrs for his family to receive these pictures!)   Well, the internet stinks and is not that great!  Still very slow and still no photos. This week has been lots of lessons and tons of walking. My feet have tons of blisters on them, and now my shoes are getting holes in the sides because of how much we walk.  I have been way tired and I am always hungry, but it’s been good.  I’m picking up on understanding the language, but still very difficult for me.  Please keep me in your prayers. Thanks for all the pictures and advice I love every one of them.  I’m trying to offer lots more prayers.  It has definitely helped.  I haven’t done a prayer silent or out loud in english since the MTC, so I hope they are still sincere and God knows I’m giving my all.
