Week #6 - Wow!! Craziest week of my Life!!

On Thursday I learned that we did not get our visa’s to go to Mozambique.  It is official.  If I don’t receive my visa by Oct 11th then I am headed to Tallahassee, Florida on Oct 15th.  Other than that, Elder Hancock and I don’t really know much.  It is only a temporary assignment so eventually I will end up in Mozambique. We might get our Visa like today, or next week,or whenever we get it we will head to Mozambique as soon as they can send us.

Life is pretty crazy here with all the run around and changes.  Mas the lingua (but the language) is coming and I’m nervous if I go state side any Portuguese I have been learning will leave me.. Eu Saber O Deus E om Meu side.. ( I know the Lord is on my side)

Another part of my Crazy Week!

To start off, last night our building got evacuated because there was a gas leak! We got evacuated at around midnight. Kinda freaky.  Elder Hedquist (CJ’s good friend from Davis he ran XC with) was the one to come knock on our door at midnight.  I was dead asleep and It scared me way bad. I felt really dizzy and nauseous and a fireman had to check on me. Tons of elders were throwing up and couldn’t breath well.  There were firetrucks and cops everywhere. But everything is good now.  I am feeling a lot better, but is was kinda scary.

Then…
2 of my buddies in the rooms next to us got their Visa today and they weren't packed because the travel office told them they were going to be here another week. They both packed as fast as they could. ,

They were given 30 minutes to get downstairs because they had a bus waiting for them.

We all rushed and helped them pack and they are gone now.. They're headed to Africa too. (Different part)

Conference was definitely the highlight of my week!!
I loved it so much.

We watched all the sessions so that was pretty great, I can`t believe all the new changes and 12 new temples announced! You wouldn't believe how excited people got when they heard them announced.

I've been doing tons of study this week with Portuguese trying to get as good as I can before I leave. It has been sad though, because everyone in the 2 districts (26 Elders and Sister) that I've gotten to know really well are either leaving Today or Tomorrow. So there are only 4 of us left.

3 Mozambique elders me, Elder Hancock, and Elder Barney and One other elder headed to Cape Verde.

That is  4 of 26 that are staying at the MTC longer.  It is sad, but God has a plan for me.  I`m excited to see where He takes me.

Elder Hancock and I had a TRC through Skype this week and it went really well. I understood most of it.. haha  She told me a few really personal stories in her life.  They have helped me with my testimony lately.   We taught about how General Conference is important and how we get to listen to words of the Lord through the mouth of His Prophets.

Its been muito frio (very cold)  down here lately.  There is snow on the mountains.  I’m gonna be very sad to not see snow for 2 years!  But on the plus side the workers here have been setting up the Christmas lights on the trees... tis the season.

And I can’t forget to mention GO AGGIES! They did amazing from what I heard.

Our class room overlooks the BYU stadium and at about 9:30pm on Friday, I was looking out the window and BYU fans were leaving and the game wasn't over!  Ya it definitely got me  excited!!

.

I can’t wait to share with the people in Mozambique and or Florida that Jesus is the Christ and He Lives, TODAY!!  I know anything is possible through Faith in Him. I love this gospel and I love the Lord with all my heart. Thanks everyone for the support

Hopefully by my next email I will be in the field !!
